All Star Reading Program

We had a great first trimester!  The class in each grade that consistently turned in the most bookmarks won a ice cream party.  The winners were Mrs. Bigham’s PM, Mrs. Hunt, Mrs. Meyer, Mrs. Chadaz & Mrs. Carpenter, Mrs. Fitzpatrick and Mrs. Carter.  Good job readers!

The second trimester is underway which means that the classes start over on their bookmark competition and also the minutes for the activity.  The next activity will be a hip-hop event (similar to last year) and will be VERY fun!  The kids must read at least 900 minutes between November 5 and February 17th.

A note was sent home with the students before Thanksgiving to let them know how many minutes they have read so far this year.  Hopefully this will help encourage the kids to read over the holidays to catch up.  To get a bronze medal they need at least 3000 minutes by the end of April.  (100 minutes per week)  Keep reading!
