If you have any questions regarding the school yearbook you can email us at beyearbook2010@yahoo.com
The new 2010 Dixie Direct books are on sale now. This year there are so many fabulous offers in the book from dining, entertainment, leisure, health & beauty, home, auto and more. It is such a great way to save money on things you do every day. This is a great fund raiser for our school because 50% of the money stays right at the school. So, not only can you save money but you can help the school too. Tell everyone you know that they are available at the front desk for only $35.00.

Wanted: Next Year's PTA Board Member
Happy New Year! It's a new year and that means it's time to start looking ahead to next year and getting the PTA Board members in place for 2010-2011. We are looking for individuals who want to be a part of the PTA in some way or another. There are so many opportunities to volunteer and help out with our programs. Our nominating committee this year is Chanda Blomquist, Kristy Hafen, Mindy Snow, Natalie Knell, Candace Hafen and Mrs. Heki. Please visit with one of these great ladies to find out what opportunities are available and how you can help out. The PTA does so many great things for Bloomington Elementary and it takes many volunteers to make it all happen; we would love YOU to be part of it next year!
H1N1 Update (Swine Flu)
As we prepare for the flu season, parents need to get as much education as they can. The best web site is www.washk12.org and click on H1N1 update. Teach and promote good health habits at home.
Flu symptoms (usually 7 days): Fever > 100, cough, sore throat, runny nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue, diarrhea and vomiting. Please DO NO send your child back until 24 hours after their symptoms subside. Thanks for your support!
Just a reminder: It is important to remember that students should not be arriving to school any earlier that 8:40 in the morning. Students who arrive before that pose a safety hazard as there is no one to supervise them on the playground. Thanks for your support with this rule.
Remember to RECYCLE!
Thanks to all of you who have supported our recycling efforts. We have had to make some changes due to vandalism and programs that are no longer available. At this time the only type of recycling we do is paper. Every week Cindy & Tucker Hathaway go around the classrooms and gather up all the paper that has been put aside for this recycling effort. They have been doing this for several years for our school and we would like to say a big THANK YOU! It is a great thing because we receive paper back from the program that the teachers are able to use in the classrooms. Last year we received over 20 boxes of recycled paper and card stock. You can help with this by bringing your paper and newspaper to the paper recycling bin located in the parking lot. All of your other recycled items need to be taken to the binnies located at the Bloomington Park. Thanks again for your support with this and remember: BE GREEN, RECYCLE!
